Dear Beloved Community,
Fellowship Beyond Sunday
There is something sacred that happens when people choose to show up for one another. Not just in organized worship or planned gatherings, but in the everyday spaces where community is formed and strengthened. Fellowship is not only what happens inside a circle of chairs. It is what happens when we recognize one another, support one another, and stand alongside one another in the wider world.
For LGBTQ people especially, community does not simply appear. It is built. It is nurtured through presence, through visibility, through small and consistent acts of showing up. When we attend local events, support queer artists, gather at fundraisers, or simply spend time in spaces created for and by LGBTQ people, we are participating in something much larger than ourselves. We are helping to create a network of belonging.
This week, there are several opportunities in our area to be part of that kind of fellowship. These events may look like fun on the surface, and they are. But they are also spaces where people feel seen, where connections are formed, and where the quiet work of building a resilient and life-giving community takes place.
It can be easy to assume that our presence does not matter. But it does. Every person who shows up contributes to the energy of a space. Every conversation, every smile, every moment of shared experience strengthens the bonds that hold a community together.
So consider choosing one event this week. (See details below). Show up not out of obligation, but out of a desire to be part of something meaningful. You may be surprised by what unfolds, not only for others, but within yourself.
Where might your presence make a difference this week?
Blessings,
Pastor Brian
