🌟 MARCH THEME: WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH 🌟
March is Women’s History Month, and throughout the month we’ve been celebrating the wisdom and witness of women biblical scholars and theologians on our church’s Facebook group page. We’ve highlighted voices like Rev. Dr. Wil Gafney, whose womanist midrash brings fresh insight to the Hebrew Scriptures, and Bishop Yvette Flunder, who calls the church to a deeper commitment to radical inclusion and justice. We’ve also honored trailblazers like Katharine Bushnell, Helen Barrett Montgomery, and Julia E. Smith who took on the sacred task of Bible translation—challenging patriarchal interpretations and reclaiming the text for the full dignity of women. Their work reminds us that women have always been part of the story—and must be part of the telling.

Dear Beloved Community,
A Rising Energy in Our Queer Community
Something is happening here in Upstate South Carolina. There’s an energy, a momentum, a movement of people committed to building a stronger, more connected LGBTQ+ community. In a time when attacks on our rights and our dignity seem relentless, we are refusing to retreat. Instead, we are organizing, gathering, and creating spaces where we can thrive.
One powerful example of this is the Queer Social Club, a grassroots movement emerging with a bold vision: to build our community, develop leadership skills, and support queer organizations, spaces, and people across the board. It’s more than just a social gathering—it’s a response to the need for deeper connections and intentional action. The Queer Social Club recognizes that for our community to flourish, we must invest in one another—not just in crisis, but in joy, celebration, and empowerment.
Too often, LGBTQ+ spaces are hard to sustain in places like the Upstate. Bars and cafes come and go, organizations struggle with resources, and queer people find themselves searching for where they belong. But rather than lamenting what we lack, the Queer Social Club is building something new—something that isn’t tied to one space or one leader but instead draws on the gifts of the entire community.
This is grassroots organizing at its best. This is what resilience looks like. From social events to leadership development, from mutual aid to advocacy, this movement is about lifting each other up and making sure that no one has to navigate life here alone.
The energy is here. The people are here. The vision is coming to life. And the beautiful thing is, there’s a place for everyone in it.
Whether you’re looking for connection, want to help organize, or simply want to be part of something bigger, this is a moment to lean in. The work of community-building isn’t flashy. It happens in conversations over coffee, in the planning of events, in the quiet acts of support that remind us we are not alone. But those small steps are the foundation for something powerful.

Join Us for One Last Worship Service in Our Church Building in Greer! 🌿✨
This Easter, we will gather one last time in our current space to celebrate resurrection, renewal, and new beginnings. As we honor the journey that has brought us here, we also look ahead to where God is leading us next.
As part of our Easter worship, we will offer baptisms for anyone feeling called to take this step in their faith journey. We will also welcome new members into our community with a new member initiation, celebrating those who are committing to walk this path with us.

THE BRUNCH CLUB
And once again, the mighty New Day Christian Community Church trivia team represented at Twisted Trivia, a benefit for Piedmont Cares. Although the questions were a little too "twisted" for even the twistiest among us, we had an evening of fun, fellowship, and chicken tenders. Our costume theme was based on that iconic movie, The Breakfast Club.

Paris Mountain Camping (March 28-30, 2025)
Join us for our annual camping trip at Paris Mountain State Park, from Friday, March 28 to Sunday, March 30. You do not need to pay per individual, only for use of one site. If you are planning on joining us for hiking during the day or for lunchtime meal, please let Pastor Brian know.

UPDATE ON CHURCH BUILDING SALE
Following our congregational meeting on March 2nd where we voted unanimously to list our building for sale, the Board of Elders is excited to announce that we have agreed to an all-cash offer to sell the building as-is. The prospective buyer has a thirty-day period to conduct due diligence on the property. Please pray that this process goes smoothly. We have a tentative closing date of May 11. In order to accomplish this schedule, we will need to organize to clean out our church space during the month of April. Stay tuned for more information. Your assistance will be invaluable as we move forward with this next chapter in our church's history.
