Join us at our new meeting location - Other Lands - for a meaningful exploration of resilience—how we face challenges, grow through them, and find strength in community. We’ll reflect on the Israelites’ journey through the wilderness, a powerful story of resilience shaped by trust, persistence, and the support of one another. Paired with Maya Angelou’s inspiring Still I Rise, we’ll explore how faith and creativity empower us to rise above pain and transform it into growth.

Resilience isn’t something we face alone—it’s a process we share, shaped by God’s presence and the support of those around us. Together, we’ll discuss how God calls us to engage creatively with life’s challenges, reimagining our future with hope and courage. Come ready to share your reflections, connect with others, and start the new year grounded in faith and strength. We look forward to seeing you there!

NOTE: WE WILL NOT BE MEETING AT OUR CHURCH BUILDING BUT AT THE FRONT ROOM OF THE BREWERY AREA AT OTHER LANDS, 731 RUTHERFORD ROAD, GREENVILLE, SC 29609 (see map below). The space we have rented is adjacent to the main coffee shop/bar at Other Lands. You'll see the signs. Arrive early and enjoy a cup of coffee or espresso drink with us!

The church will not be providing a meal on Sunday but feel free to stay after and join Pastor Brian and Scott for lunch at Other Lands.

Dear Beloved Community,

As we step into 2025, the new year brings fresh opportunities to grow, connect, and reimagine what it means to be a community of faith. With change comes the chance to embrace new possibilities, and I’m thrilled that this Sunday will be our first meeting at our temporary home at Other Lands, just north of downtown Greenville. This vibrant coffee shop, wine bar, and brewery is becoming a hub for the LGBTQ community, hosting the Queer Arts Initiative and queer-themed events. Their mission of connection, authenticity, and inclusivity aligns perfectly with our values as a church committed to serving the LGBTQ community and beyond.

For our theme this month, I have selected to focus on resilience.

Resilience is the ability to adapt, grow, and find strength through life’s challenges, drawing on faith, creativity, and the support of community. This theme is especially timely as we step into a new year marked by uncertainty and challenges. With the transition to a new administration, many in our community are facing fears about what this could mean for our rights, our safety, and our future. Resilience is about more than surviving adversity—it’s about finding strength in our faith, in one another, and in the possibilities that God places before us. By focusing on resilience, we’ll explore how to navigate these uncertain times with courage, creativity, and a renewed commitment to stand together as a community grounded in hope and love.

I look forward to engaging you in this important work of building community.

Community Social Event - Other Lands: Sunday, January 12, 2025, 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Join us for board and card games, including a game of Hygge, a cozy, conversation-driven card game inspired by the Danish concept of comfort, togetherness, and well-being. Players take turns drawing cards with prompts designed to spark meaningful conversations, share memories, and reflect on simple joys, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere for connection and storytelling. It’s less about competition and more about fostering a sense of closeness and relaxation among participants.
